Our Back to School Event Was a Sucess
September 4th, 2007
Reaching Our Destiny Through Education
Back to School Event was held in East New York Brooklyn was coordinated by The Sabaoth Group in collaboration with CPCA, Inc - Community Partners Commission Assoc., Inc, the U.S. Department of Justice ENY Weed and Seed, and New Creation Ministry. More than 1,000 (one thousand) local youngsters and their parent were invited to the back to school event. Staff devoted weeks of planning, outreach, preparation and dedication to make the day a success.
The event was conceived and coordinated by Monica Moye, Community Event Coordinator and Public Affairs Director; the recent North Carolina Mount Olive College graduate acquired a drive for community activism and public advocacy during her work as an executive assistant to the directors of both the Community Partners Commission Assoc., Inc and The Sabaoth Group. Monica is credited with single handedly devising strategies to build the CPCA, Inc, resource data base and conducting daily intakes for services to thousands of low-income families. The success of the "Reaching Our Destiny Through Education" back to school event is yet another view of Monica Moye's skill as a community coordinator and public information director.
Focused On The Educational Sucess of Our Children
The main focus of the event was to encourage the youth to expect and receive great success in the upcoming school year. To show their support each organization contributed a major amount of effort to seek finances and advocacy for the youth of the community. Thousands of dollars of cash and in-kind donations made it possible to give the yourth and their families a pre-school boost towards books, book bags supplies and other basic necessities. More than eight thousand dollars was provided and there was still a shortage at the end of the day. We contnue to seek donations and assistance to help the young people we did not serve at this years event.
