Services offered to Tenants & the Community

The Sabaoth Group, Inc. provides a number of valuable services to tenants and other members of the community.

Substance Abuse Referrals

Counseling and referrals are given to tenants and community members who are abusing drugs and/or alcohol.

Apartment Location/Rental Assistance

TSG, Inc. assists community members in the process of obtaining apartments for their families.

F-Tap Program

Security program; police officers are given access to buildings for security purposes.

Community Resources

Located in office of TSG, Inc. the resource area contains information on employment, childcare, healthcare, etc. You can also access a limited amount of resources on our website's Resources section.

Rent Arrears/Protective Services

TSG, Inc. partners with Human Resources in providing tenants assistance with special needs/emergency services.

Special Programs for Seniors

Seniors are the pillar of our communities. From a variety of backgrounds, seniors bring wisdom, life experiences, culture, and history that will further benefit the communities in which they reside. With encouragement and support, seniors can maintain the high quality living standards necessary to thrive well into their "golden years". The Sabaoth Group, Inc. is dedicated to providing assistance to seniors by partnering with organizations in establishing services that will secure an enriched quality of life.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)

This program is offered by the Local Office for the Aging. It provides assistance to applicants, age 60 and over with financial assistance towards utility bill obligations. Seniors can apply for this assistance beginning in November. Seniors who quality for the HEAP program will also qualify for the Weatherization Referral and Packaging Program (WRAP); another financial assistance program. All applicants are required to register with the Local Office for the Aging.

Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption Program (SCRIE)

This program is sponsored by the New York City Department for the Aging and provides exemption from rent increases to New York City tenants who are 62 years of age or older. Seniors are required to live in a rent-regulated apartment and have an annual household income of $24,000 or less.

Telephone Assistance

Telephone Fair Practices Act was established to assist seniors age 62 or older with maintaining phone service. Seniors that receive supplemental security income (SSI), public assistance, or other state payments will not be required to pay a deposit when obtaining phone service.

Visiting Nurse Services of New York

Licensed by the State of New York and fully accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program, the Visiting Nurse Services provides a full range of home health care services to the New York metropolitan area. These services include senior care, private care, rehabilitation therapy, hospice, and post-hospital care. This organization comprises of a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to their clients.

Meals on Wheels

This program is offered to seniors, age 60 and older who are physically challenged or unable to provide nutritional meals for themselves. In order to request this service, seniors are encouraged to call a center closet to their residence.

Koinonia Program

Exclusively organized by seniors, this program will provide them with the opportunity to fellowship together. Seniors will share ideas, discuss important issues, form new relationships, and create new memories. They will have the option of socializing through Pot Lucks, Tenant Meetings, Book Clubs, Trips, etc. Seniors will decide to meet on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis.

The staff at TSG, Inc. will provide all seniors the assistance needed in the program application processes.
